Background:

Hidden high up in the Himalayas is an ancient sect of monks who have completely severed their connections to the rest of humanity. They live a peaceful life with their yaks and spend day in and day out knitting. The monks toil endlessly on scarves, sweaters, socks, hats, and more, seeking to find nirvana through their knitting needles. Only one outsider has ever been admitted to the Order of the Yarn: Emily Walsh.

Emily Walsh trained with the monks for a year, perfecting her already impressive array of knitting skills. She quickly perfected what took the monks years to master. They taught her everything they knew. After a year's time, the head of the order came to Emily.

"You have learned all we can teach you. It is time for you to take your gift into the world and use it to help those in need."

Emily packed up her needles and left the monastery. Wherever there was trouble, she knew she would be there with a ball of yarn and a smile.
