What I Want, What I Need

I guess it all started
With the one I thought was a
Golden god
But was merely hollow inside
An idol in the truest sense
Then I found talented and intelligent
And didn't look back from there
That's what I wanted
That's what I needed
One who said words that could make me melt
And we lived in a dream world of seductive utterances
Sending missives across oceans and continents
One with visions of color and form
Brought life to an innocent media
With a naughty smirk on his face
There was the musical intellectual
Who would play for me for hours
While I made plays for his affection
And one who knew what I wanted and when
Who only stopped when it was to our benefit
And then we would speak of our scientific pursuits
And the artist, the writer, the musician,
All rolled into one gentle package
With dark thoughts and a penchant for spicy food,
And now I am wanting, and now I am needing,
Another whose talents and brilliance abound.
